Central East Division

With a population of 165,000 the City of Oshawa is by far the busiest police jurisdiction in Durham Region, accounting for 24.21 per cent of all Calls for Service handled by the Durham Regional Police.

Oshawa is also home to six of the top ten employers in Durham Region including the Ontario Ministry of Finance, a large and expanding hospital and the Durham District School Boards. Thousands of students come into the community every year to attend the main campus of Durham College and Ontario Tech University. Oshawa is also home to many attractions, including Parkwood Estate, the McLaughlin Gallery, the Canadian Automotive Museum and The Ontario Regiment Museum.

Inspector Dave Mason leads the team at Central East Division.

The vision of Central East Division is to have the safest community for people to live, work and play. Roadway safety plays a key part in keeping our community safe by helping to reduce vehicle collisions through education to address distracted driving, impaired driving, seat-belt use and aggressive driving.
