Durham Regional Police Service’s West Division serves two of the eight municipalities that make up Durham Region.

The Town of Ajax, with a population of more than 135,000, is located along the north shoreline of Lake Ontario, less than half an hour east of Toronto. It is bounded on the east by the Town of Whitby and on the north and west by the City of Pickering.

The City of Pickering, with a population of more than 100,000, is located with Toronto, Markham, and Rouge Park bordering on the west, the Towns of Ajax and Whitby border on the east, the Township of Uxbridge is to the north and Lake Ontario is found along Pickering's southern boundary.

There are three main units in West Division:
- Uniform Patrol
- Community Resource Unit (CRU)
- Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB)

These units are supported by Administrative Assistants, Crime Analysts and civilian Station Duty Operators.
