Safe Firearm Disposal Program

Overview

The DRPS Safe Firearm Disposal Program provides a simple, responsible method to dispose of unwanted or illegally-owned firearms and ammunition. This program is intended to be a resource for lawful gun owners who no longer want their guns and people who have come into possession of a firearm and do not wish to keep it or may not legally be able to keep it. You do not need a firearm's licence to surrender a gun through this program.

The program helps reduce the number of potential firearms available in the community that could fall into the wrong hands, like those of a child or a criminal. It helps police combat any potential harm that may come from unregulated firearms.
