Central East Division Hosts Oshawa Community Safety Day

Over the weekend DRPS' Central East Division hosted their 2026 Oshawa Community Safety Day, which saw over 1,200 attendees come out and enjoy various activities.

Community members had an opportunity to tour vehicles and displays from units such as our Marine Unit, Forensic Identification, and tour our UTV, DRPS’ light armored vehicle, several police cruisers, and other emergency service vehicles.

Thank you to all residents who attended and spent time learning about policing, fire services and paramedic services - we hope you enjoyed meeting members from our organizations.

A special thanks to the DRPS' specialty units, DRPS' Youth in Policing program and members who volunteered their time to make this event a huge success. Our very own DRPS Pipes & Drums also put on a show stopping performance for the crowd.

Thanks to our community safety partners Oshawa Fire, Region of Durham Paramedic Services, and City of Oshawa helped make the day a success.

A number of other community partners attended and volunteered their time and/or donated:

- City of Oshawa Bylaw
- City of Oshawa Events & Culture
- City of Oshawa Corporate Security
- OVERT
- CPKC Police Service
- OPP
- Jubilee Pavillion
- Oshawa Generals
- Oshawa Firewolves

Stay tuned for upcoming Community Safety Days across our other divisions
