Collision Involving Electric Scooter in Pickering

A 16-year-old male suffered life-altering injuries after his e-scooter collided with a vehicle in Pickering.

 

On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at approximately 7:00 p.m., officers from West Division responded to a collision between a motor vehicle and an electric scooter at Whites Road and Finch Avenue.

 

A grey Toyota Sienna was travelling northbound on Whites Road, making a right turn when it collided with an electric scooter in the crosswalk. Officers arrived on scene and located the 16-year-old electric scooter rider with life-altering injuries. He was transported to a Toronto area trauma centre and his condition remains stable. The 43-year-old driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

 

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
