Four Arrested Following Guns and Gangs Investigation in Ajax
Four males have been arrested following an investigation by the DRPS Guns and Gangs Unit in Ajax.
In July 2026, investigators with the DRPS Guns and Gangs Unit concluded an investigation into firearm trafficking in Durham Region. As a result, members of the Guns and Gang Unit, with the assistance of the DRPS Tactical Support Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence in Ajax.
Four males were located in the residence and taken into custody. A search of the residence located two handguns with overcapacity magazines, a replica Mac10 firearm, ammunition, and Canadian currency.
At the time of their arrests, two of the accused were already on weapons prohibition conditions.
Devante BOYCE, age 21 from Ajax is charged with: Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm – No licence x2, Possess Prohibited/Restricted Firearm x2, Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm, Possess Firearm Obtained by Crime x2, and Fail to Comply with Release order x2.
Darius HAMILTON, age 21 from Ajax is charged with: Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm – No licence x2, Possess Prohibited/Restricted Firearm x2, Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm, Possess Firearm Obtained by Crime x2, Possess Proceeds Obtained by Crime Over $5000, Breach Peace Bond, Disobey Court Order, and Fail to Comply with Release Order.
Tristan Devounte MITCHELL, age 22 from Ajax is charged with: Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm – No licence x2, Possess Prohibited/Restricted Firearm x2, Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm, Possess Prohibited Device x2, Possess Firearm Obtained by Crime x2, Possess Firearm While Prohibited, Possess Proceeds Obtained by Crime Over $5000.
Quinton PARR, age 21 from Toronto is charged with: Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm – No licence x2, Possess Prohibited Device x2, Possess loaded Firearm, Possess Firearm Obtained by Crime x2, and Possess Proceeds Obtained by Crime Over $5000.
All were held for a bail hearing.
