Male Arrested After Making Anti-Semitic Death Threats Online
The DRPS Hate Crime and Extremism Unit has arrested a male after he made several anti-Semitic online death threats.
In May 2026, Investigators from the DRPS East Division Criminal Investigations Branch and Hate Crime and Extremism Unit were contacted by the Vancouver Police Department after receiving information related to an account that made numerous anti-Semitic death threats via the online platform ‘X’.
Investigators identified the suspect and on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence in Clarington. The suspect was located inside the residence and taken into custody without incident.
David Edward SMITH, age 58 from Clarington is charged with: Uttering Death Threats.
He was released on an Undertaking.
