Male Arrested After Pointing Firearm During Road Rage Incident in Oshawa

A male is facing charges after pointing a firearm at another male during a verbal road rage altercation in Oshawa.

On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at approximately 5:05 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Ritson Road North and Taunton Road East. The suspect and victim were involved in a verbal road rage altercation when the suspect pointed a firearm toward the victim and made threats, before leaving the area. Officers arrived on scene and quickly located and arrested the suspect without incident. The firearm was later confirmed to be an imitation pistol.

The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.

Bhaviya Jiteshkumar PATEL, age 26 from Clarington is charged with: Point Firearm, Assault with a Weapon, and Weapons Dangerous.

He was released on an Undertaking.
