Male Arrested After Sexual Assault in Whitby
A 62-year-old male is facing charges following a sexual assault investigation in Whitby.
On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, members of Central West Division began a sexual assault investigation after it was reported that a 16-year-old male had been sexually assaulted while employed at a pharmacy in the area of Taunton Road East and Garden Street. The victim reported that while working at the pharmacy, he was touched inappropriately multiple times by the manager.
On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Sampath PERERA, age 62 from Markham is charged with: Sexual Assault, and Sexual Exploitation.
He was released on an Undertaking.
