Male Arrested After Stealing Vehicle and Fleeing Police in Clarington
A male is facing charges after stealing a vehicle and fleeing police in Clarington.
On Sunday, June 7, 2026, at approximately 12:15 p.m., members of East Division responded to an unknown trouble call in the area of Concession Street East and Soper Creek Drive. A male stole a Volkswagen sedan following an altercation. The suspect drove the vehicle in a dangerous manner, nearly causing multiple accidents, before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot in the area of Holt Road and Highway 401.
The suspect fled across live lanes of Highway 401 into a farmer’s field, before officers located and took him into custody near Rundle Road.
The suspect did not sustain any physical injuries.
Kashif NILES, age 27 from Barbados is charged with: Theft of Motor Vehicle, and Dangerous Operation.
He was held for a bail hearing.
