Male Arrested After Theft and Threatening Security with a Weapon in Pickering

A male is facing charges after a theft incident in which he threatened security with a knife in Pickering.

On Friday, April 24, 2026, at approximately 12:25 p.m., members of West Division responded to a robbery call at the Shoppers Drug Mart located inside The Shops at Pickering City Centre at 1355 Kingston Road. A male entered the store and concealed several items in a bag. When the suspect was confronted by staff he fled the store. When mall security attempted to follow the male, he threatened them with a large knife.

A short time later, officers located the male and took him into custody without incident.

Jarmanjit SINGH, age 28 from Brampton is charged with: Possess Weapon Dangerous, Theft Under $5000 x2, Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 x2, and Breach Probation.

He was held for a bail hearing.
