Male Arrested Following Sexual Assault Investigation in Ajax

A male is facing charges following a sexual assault investigation in Ajax.

On Thursday, October 1, 2026, at approximately 6:10 a.m., members of West Division responded to a sexual assault call at a residence in the area of Lake Driveway West and Hawkins Crescent. The adult victim agreed to meet the suspect at his residence to spend time together. While inside the residence, the suspect forcibly prevented the victim from leaving and sexually assaulted her. The victim was later able to flee the residence and contact police.

Officers attended the suspect’s residence and took the male into custody without incident.

The victim was transported to a local-area hospital with minor injuries.

Mandela MUIRURI, age 29 from Ajax is charged with: Sexual Assault, and Forcible Confinement.

He was held for a bail hearing.
