Male Arrested for $45,000 Metal Theft in Ajax
A male is facing charges after being arrested for recycled metal theft valued at over $45,000 in Ajax.
On Thursday, June 25, 2026, at approximately 9:15 p.m., members of West Division responded to an alarm call at AIM Recycling located at 140 Dowty Road. A male suspect was observed breaking into the business’s scrap metal yard. Officers, with the assistance of the K9 Unit, Tactical Support Unit, and Drone Unit, searched the area and located the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident.
Further investigation revealed the suspect had committed multiple thefts from the business, stealing more than $45,000 in metal.
Haron MOHAMMAD, age 35 from Pickering is charged with: Break-and-Enter, and Theft Over $5000.
He was released on an Undertaking.
