Male Arrested for Vehicle Ownership Fraud in Whitby
A male is facing charges after attempting to fraudulently transfer vehicle ownerships in Whitby.
On Thursday, May 28, 2026, at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of Central West Division responded to a fraud in progress call at the Service Ontario located at 1615 Dundas Street East. A male attended the Service Ontario and attempted to register several vehicles not in his name to a third party.
The accused had previously made several transactions deemed to be fraudulent.
Officers attended the Service Ontario and took the male into custody without incident.
Menis MIHALAICHE, age 52 from Toronto is charged with: Fraud Over $5000 x2, Utter Forged Document x2, Attempt Fraud Over $5000.
He was released on an Undertaking.
