Male Charged in Ajax Home Construction Fraud Investigation

A male has been charged in connection with a fraud investigation involving a residential construction project in Ajax.

In August 2024, the victim hired Aria Build Corporation to complete the construction of a residence in Ajax. The victim dealt directly with the owner of the company.

As part of the agreed payment schedule, the victim provided Aria Build Corp with $56,560 for the residence to be enrolled in a Tarion Warranty. The payment was deposited into a bank account associated with Aria Build Corp.

During the construction project, a dispute arose regarding the payment schedule and completion of the residence, and Aria Build Corp ceased work on the property.

The victim subsequently contacted Tarion to determine what warranty protections were available for the unfinished residence. The victim learned that the property had never been enrolled with Tarion and was not protected as believed.

Police are concerned there may be further victims.

Behzad AYON, age 30, owner of Aria Build Corp, is charged with: Fraud Over $5,000 x1 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 x1.
