Male Wanted After Defrauding Older Male in Clarington

Police have issued an arrest warrant for a male after he befriended and defrauded an older male out of $33,000 for landscaping and repair work in Clarington.

In May 2026, investigators with the East Division Criminal Investigations Branch began an investigation into a male suspect after it was reported that he defrauded a 78-year-old victim for more than $33,000. The suspect befriended the victim over a period of a month and agreed to provide landscaping and repair services on the victim’s property. The suspect was paid but completed no work.

Investigators believe the suspect specifically targets vulnerable and older individuals through a variety of fraudulent schemes.

The suspect is also wanted by five other police services across Ontario for fraud related charges.

At the time of this incident, the accused was on conditions not to seek/accept payment for any work until it’s completion.

Christopher Alexander GRAHAM, age 40 from Clarington is wanted for: Fraud Over $5000, Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, Breach Prohibition Order, Breach Probation x2, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.
