Male Wanted After Using Counterfeit Currency at Hardware Business in Bowmanville
Police are searching for a male who used counterfeit currency to fraudulently purchase items from a hardware store in Bowmanville.
On Saturday, January 17, 2026, at approximately 2:15 p.m., a male attended the Home Depot located at 120 Clarington Boulevard in Bowmanville. The suspect purchased multiple items using counterfeit currency.
At approximately 3:05 p.m., the suspect attended the Home Depot located at 1050 De Palma Drive in Cobourg. The suspect returned the fraudulently purchased items for genuine Canadian currency.
The suspect is described as: male, Brown, 30-35 years-old, with a medium build, and black beard. He was wearing a baseball cap, grey hoodie, grey pants, and brown work boots.
