Motorcycle and Vehicle Collide in Whitby
A motorcyclist sustained serious life-altering injuries following a collision in Whitby.
On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at approximately 12:10 a.m., members of Central West Division responded to a collision in the area of Taunton Road East and Thickson Road North. A Yamaha motorcycle was eastbound on Taunton Road East when it collided with a westbound Honda sedan turning left at the intersection.
The 21-year-old male driver and two other occupants in the Honda sustained no injuries.
The 24-year-old male motorcyclist was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious life-altering injuries, where he remains in stable condition.
Members of the DRPS - Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The intersection was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. At this time the investigation remains ongoing.
