North Division Hosts Community Safety Day

Last weekend DRPS' North Division hosted their 2026 Community Safety Day, which saw over 600 attendees come out and enjoy various activities.

Community members had an opportunity to tour vehicles and displays from units such as our K9 Unit, Traffic Services, Marine Unit, Forensic Identification, and tour DRPS’ light armored vehicle, several police cruisers, and other emergency service vehicles.

Thank you to all residents who attended and spent time learning about policing, fire services and paramedic services - we hope you enjoyed meeting members from our organizations.

A special thanks to the DRPS' specialty units and members who volunteered their time to make this event a huge success, without your support days like these wouldn’t be possible.

A number of other community partners attended and volunteered their time and/or donated:

- Region of Durham Paramedic Services
- St. John Ambulance
- Ontario Provincial Police
- Ministry of Transportation
- Township of Scugog - Fire Service and By-law
- Township of Uxbridge - Fire Service and By-law
- Township of Brock - Fire Service and By-law
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Durham
- Durham Community Legal Clinic
- Air Bounce Adventures
- FACE It by Christy

Stay tuned for upcoming Community Safety Days across our other divisions
