Pedestrian Suffers Significant Injuries After Collision in Ajax

A pedestrian suffered significant injuries following a single vehicle collision in Ajax.

On Thursday, April 23, 2026, at approximately 2:25 p.m., members of West Division responded to a pedestrian involved collision in the area of Harwood Avenue North and Rossland Road East. A Mini Cooper was travelling southbound on Harwood Avenue North when it collided with a female pedestrian in the roadway. 

As a result of the collision, the 16-year-old female pedestrian suffered significant injuries and was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre. The 48-year-old male driver of the Mini remained on scene.

Members of the DRPS - Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. The roadway has since been re-opened. This collision is still under investigation.
