PROJECT JETSETTER: Arrest Warrant Issued After Vehicle Fraudulently Purchased in Pickering
Police have issued an arrest warrant for a male after he fraudulently purchased a vehicle from a dealership in Pickering.
On Thursday, December 18, 2025, a male attended a Pickering dealership and purchased a 2022 BMW X5 SUV valued at $50,000, using fraudulent documents. The vehicle was exported out of Canada before being reported to police.
On Sunday, February 8, 2026, the accused was removed from Canada.
Marian DONOIU, age 48 from Romania is wanted for: Fraud Over $5000, Make False Statement to Procure Personal Property, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Dispose of Property to Avoid Creditors.

Investigators believe this scam is linked to an organized group involved in criminal tourism.
