Three Youth Charged After Assault Investigation

Three youth have been arrested and charged in connection with two separate assaults that occurred near a school in the area of Scugog Street and Longworth Avenue in Bowmanville.

On August 19, 2026, at approximately 1:55 p.m., a victim was walking near the school when they were approached by two male suspects and assaulted. The incident was reported to police several days later, and investigators were able to identify two suspects.

The following day, on August 20, 2026, at approximately 9:26 a.m., a second victim was assaulted by a group of youth in the same area. This incident was also reported to police several days later.

Through the investigation, officers determined that the two previously identified suspects, along with a third youth, were involved in both incidents. The victims were not known to the accused.

As a result of the investigation, all three youths were identified and arrested. Due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identities of the accused cannot be released.

A 13-year-old male from Bowmanville has been charged with Assault x2.

A 14-year-old male from Clarington has been charged with Assault x2.

A 14-year-old male from Clarington has been charged with Assault.

The 14-year-old male was held for a bail hearing. The 13-year-old male from Bowmanville and 14-year-old male from Clarington were released on an undertaking.
