Toronto Man Charged Following Fraud Investigation
A male has been charged in connection with a fraud investigation involving forged vehicle ownership documents in Ajax.
On October 20, 2026, officers responded to a fraud-in-progress call at Service Ontario after the suspect provided what employee’s believe to be fraudulent documentation to transfer ownership of a 2019 Dodge Caravan from the victim.
Service Ontario employees noticed that the ownership document had not been signed by the registered owner. The suspect was seen leaving the office and going to his vehicle alone. He returned a short time later with the same documents, which now had a signature, and gave them to a Service Ontario employee, who then contacted police.
Service Ontario employees reported that the accused had attended the location on several previous occasions and was believed to have registered vehicles using fraudulent documentation.
Ion BOANA, age 52, of Toronto, is charged with: Fraud Over $5,000 x1, Utter Forged Document x1, Alter Document to Defraud x1
