UPDATE #1 Youth Charged After Collision Investigation in Clarington

A 17-year-old male is facing charges following a collision investigation that saw several youths suffer injuries in Clarington.

On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at approximately 11:05 a.m., members of Central East Division responded to a collision on Longworth Avenue near Jackman Road in Clarington. A Volkswagen hatchback was travelling westbound when it collided with a Ford SUV travelling eastbound. 

As a result of the collision, six youth suffered injuries. Four were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, and two were transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries.

Following an investigation by the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit, the driver of the Volkswagen has been arrested and charged.

A 17-year-old male from Clarington is charged with: Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Cause Bodily Harm – Exceed x3.

He was released on an Undertaking.
