A 16-Year-Old Has Died Following a Plane Crash in Caesarea
A 16-year-old male has died after a small plane crashed into Lake Scugog in Caesarea.
On Friday, July 18, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., members from North Division responded to a plane crash on Lake Scugog in the area of Williams Point Road. Officers arrived on scene and located a plane that had crashed into a dock as well as another boat. The plane flipped over; however, the pilot and passenger were able to exit with minor injuries.
A 16-year-old male was on a dock at the time and was struck by the plane. He was pronounced deceased on scene.
The names of those involved are not being released at this time. Our thoughts remain with the male’s family and those impacted by this tragedy. Furthermore, we are requesting privacy for the family.
Members of the Durham Regional Police, alongside members of the Transportation Safety Board of Canada remain at the scene and are continuing the investigation.
