Male Arrested After Fleeing Police in Oshawa

A 28-year-old male has been arrested after fleeing from police in Oshawa.

On Saturday, July 12, 2025, at approximately 9:00 a.m., members of Central East Division responded to a check call in the area of Wilson Road South and Dean Avenue for reports of a male slumped behind the wheel.  Police arrived on scene and located the suspect vehicle driving westbound on Dean Avenue. Officers attempted a traffic stop at which time the vehicle fled from police.  

The suspect collided with an unoccupied vehicle in the area of Brest Court and Sedan Crescent. He then exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers located the suspect a short distance away and he was taken into custody.

Jeff AVERY, age 28, of No Fixed Address is facing several charges, including: Dangerous Operation; Fail to Stop for Police; Drive Motor Vehicle While Suspended and Leave Accident Scene / Fail to Give Name.

He was held for a bail hearing.
