Male Arrested with Loaded Firearm in Whitby
Police have seized a firearm following the arrest of a 37-year-old male in Whitby.
On Sunday, July 6, 2025, at approximately 1:15 a.m., members of Central West Division were proactively patrolling the area of Brock Street South and Dunlop Street East when they located a suspicious vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was associated to a male with multiple warrants out for his arrest. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the suspect struck a cruiser and took off.
On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, the suspect was arrested with a loaded handgun in the area of Hickory Street and Dundas Street in Whitby.
Bryan YOUNG, age 37, of Pickering, is charged with multiple offences, including: Fail to Comply with Probation x2; Possession Contrary to the Order x3; Drive Motor Vehicle while Suspended x4; Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized and Possess Loaded Prohibited Firearm.
At the time of his arrest, YOUNG, was also wanted with DRPS on warrants, for offences including: Assault x2; Assault with a Weapon; Mischief under $5000 and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
He was held for a bail hearing.
