Suspect in Custody After Two People Shot in Oshawa

Police have charged a male suspect with multiple firearm offences following a double shooting in Oshawa.

On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at approximately 7:10 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to an armed person call in the area of John Street West and Simcoe Street South. Upon arrival, officers located an 18-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the hip.

He was transported to a Toronto-area with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly thereafter, a local area hospital notified police of a second male who arrived at the emergency room with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Investigators determined that this16-year-old male was also a victim from the same shooting incident. His injuries are also considered non-life-threatening.

The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

At approximately 7:25 p.m., officers located the suspect in a nearby construction site and he was arrested without incident.

Yosef AHMED, age 19, from Oshawa is charged with numerous offences including: Aggravated Assault x2; Discharge Firearm With Intent To Endanger Life x3; Assault With A Weapon x3; Point Firearm x3; Posses Prohibited/Restricted Weapon Knowing No Authority and Carry Concealed Weapon.
