Suspects Wanted After Armed Street Level Robbery in Whitby

Police are looking for two male suspects after an armed street level robbery in Whitby took place during an online marketplace transaction.

 

On Tuesday August 12, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., members from Central West Division responded to an armed street level robbery call in the area of Winchester Road East and Queen Street. The victim was selling a microphone on Facebook Marketplace and arranged to meet a potential buyer. While the victim was communicating with the suspect, another male suspect approached him, and held a knife towards him, grabbing the microphone. Both suspects ran southbound on St. Thomas Street and fled in a dark-coloured Acura SUV prior to police arrival. A photo of the suspect vehicle is attached.

 

Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

 

No physical injuries were reported.

 

Suspect 1 is described as: male, Black, 20 years old, 5’9 with a slim build. He had dreads and was wearing a purple/black jacket, black track suit and white Nike running shoes.

 

Suspect 2 is described as: male, Black, 20 years old, wearing a blue medical mask, black hooded sweater with a white emblem on the front and large graphic on the back, black pants and white running shoes.

 

Anyone with information about this incident or security camera footage in the area of Winchester Road East and Queen Street or St. Thomas Street between the hours of 7:10 p.m. and 7:25 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 is asked to contact D/Cst.
