Update #1 - Suspect Wanted After Pointing a Firearm in the Oshawa Centre

A youth has been arrested after pointing a firearm in October, 2024.

On Monday, October 7, 2024, at approximately 7:20 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to the Oshawa Centre for reports of a male pointing a firearm at a group of males at the south end of the mall. Following the altercation the suspect fled on foot.

In April 2025 a Criminal Code search warrant was granted for a residence in Toronto to search for evidence. The suspect was in custody for an unrelated matter, and a Judge’s Order was given to lay the new charges.

A 17-year-old male from Toronto is charged with: Pointing a Firearm; Possess Weapons Dangerous and Failing to Comply with Release Order.
