A Male is in Custody after a Stabbing in Oshawa

A male is in custody and a second male is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in Oshawa.

On Thursday, March 28, 2024, at approximately 11:20 p.m., members from Central East Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Simcoe Street South and Bagot Street in Oshawa.  Officers arrived on the scene and located a male suffering from a stab wound.  He was transferred to a Toronto-area trauma centre in a non-life-threatening condition.  Officers on the scene were able to quickly identify a suspect and took him into custody nearby.

Ryley WHALEN, age 22 No Fixed Address is charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of Weapon for Committing an Offence and Assault with a Weapon.

He was held for Bail Hearing.
