Chief For a Day Takes Over the Service
Chief Todd Rollauer was given a well-deserved day off when Grade 5 student Gabriel Perruccio took over as Chief of Police on October 25. Gabriel was the winner of the 2022 annual Chief for a Day Essay Contest.
Perruccio, a student at St Paul Catholic School in Whitby, successfully and flawlessly performed his duties during a fun-filled day.
Following the Change of Command Oath of Office at Regional Headquarters in Whitby , he toured the Service's Unit across the Region. Our Mini Chief spent time with Traffic Services Branch, Forensic Investigative Services, and watched demonstrations on Use of Force.
His day concluded with a trip on AIR1, flying over Whitby and his school.
