IMPACT Youth Forum

Durham Regional Police Service will be hosting Youth in Policing’s (YIP) 4th annual IMPACT Youth Forum on Saturday January 13, 2024.

The 2024 IMPACT Youth Forum is an exclusive community event for youth aged 13-24 focused on leadership and empowerment. It aims to help youth start a ripple of change and turn it into meaningful impact. This year, our emphasis centers on the theme of "act," featuring esteemed guests and keynote speakers.

Featured speakers include:

Tracy Schmitt, a female leader, athlete, best-selling author and award-wining speaker will inspire participants with her remarkable journey as a four-way amputee. Tracy shares her memorable story as motivation for all of us overcoming our own obstacles

De-Mario Knowles is a global keynote speaker, award winning poet and researcher. He leads an IMPACT movement while pursuing a medical career, collaborating with Grammy-winning artsits and advocation for education and social equality.

Mike Shoreman is an award-winning mental health advocate, athlete, motivational speaker, author, educator and producer. He is the first Canadian athlete with disabilities to cross all five Great Lakes to raise funds for children and youth in crisis across Canada and to raise awareness about mental health and persons with disabilities.

Sunjay Nath is an engaging speaker and entrepreneur with degrees in Mathematical Engineering and an MBA, and has delivered captivating presentations since age 19.

In-person registration is full, but there are still virtual options available! All participants (both in-person and virtual attendees will receive up to seven volunteer hours)
