Impaired Investigation Leads to Drug Arrest and Seizure

A male and female are in custody after an impaired investigation revealed hidden drugs in a motor vehicle.

On Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at approximately 10:55 a.m., members of East Division responded to reports of a male and female possibly impaired and asleep in a vehicle in the area of Clarington Boulevard and Stevens Road in Clarington.  Police located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.  When officers approached they observed drug paraphernalia in the motor vehicle.  Upon further investigation a large quantity of numerous drugs, and a prohibited weapon were located and seized.  Both parties were taken into custody without incident. 

Daniel KNIGHT, age 45 of No Fixed Address is charged with: Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine) x1, Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) x2, Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (MDMA) x1, Possess Other Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x2, Possession of other Schedule III Substance x1, Possess Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x1, Unlicenced Person Possess Prohibited Weapon x1.

Tanya EASTMAN, age 38 of Bancroft is charged with: Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine) x1, Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) x2, Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (MDMA) x1, Possess Other Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x2, Possession of other Schedule III Substance x1, Possess Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x1, Unlicenced Person Possess Prohibited Weapon x1.

Both were held for a bail hearing.
