Male Arrested after Stabbing in Whitby

A 35-year-old male has been arrested after a stabbing on Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at approximately 12:40 a.m., members of Central West Division responded to reports of an armed person in the area of Millstone Crescent and Forest Heights Street in Whitby. Police arrived on scene and located two adult males suffering from stab wounds.  One male was taken into custody without incident.  The victim was transported to a local area hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.  The suspect was also transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

This was an isolated incident and there are no safety concerns to the public.

Andre SCHUGT, age 35 of Whitby is charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon, and Possess Weapon for Committing Offence.

He was held for a bail hearing.
