Male Arrested for Commercial Break-and-Enter in Port Perry

A male wanted on outstanding warrants is in custody after he was observed exiting a closed local business in the early morning.

On Saturday, October 14, 2023, at approximately 4:25 a.m., a member of North Division was conducting proactive patrol in the area of Simcoe Street and Oyler Drive in Port Perry, when he observed a suspicious male exit a closed business.  The male was seen loading multiple items into his vehicle.  A traffic stop was initiated as the male was leaving the area.  The driver was identified as being a prohibited driver with outstanding warrants.  He was also confirmed to be in possession of numerous stolen items.  He was taken into custody without incident.

Christopher HEAYN, age 49 of Clarington is charged with: Break-and-Enter and Commit Place Other than Dwelling x1, Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 x1, and Operate a Conveyance While Prohibited x2. 

He was held for bail hearing.
