Male Facing Human Trafficking Charges Following Investigation

A male is facing numerous charges following a human trafficking investigation at a hotel in Oshawa.

On Saturday, May 11, 2024, members of Central East Division responded to a check on well being call at a hotel located in the area of Bloor Street West and Stevenson Road South.  There were concerns for a female who had been residing at the hotel for a short period.  Police located the female in a room with a male.  The male was taken into custody without incident for various domestic related charges.  The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.

Further investigation determined the suspect was trafficking the victim.  The suspect was additionally charged with human trafficking related charges.

Conrod WEBLEY, age 35 from Toronto is charged with numerous offences including: Assault, Mischief Under $5000, Forcible Confinement, Traffick in Persons, Financial/Material benefit from Sexual Services, Advertising Sexual Service, Procuring, and Withholding Documents.

He was held for a bail hearing.
