Male in Custody after Two Males Stabbed at Whitby Bar

A 22-year-old male has been arrested after stabbing two employees of a bar early Monday morning.

On Monday, October 23, 2023, at approximately 2:20 a.m., members of Central West Division responded to reports of an armed person at the Royal Hotel located at 171 Brock Street North in Whitby. Police arrived on scene and located two adult males suffering from stab wounds.  Both males were transported to a Toronto area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.  The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.  A short time later an Uber driver alerted police to a suspicious male passenger.  A traffic stop was initiated and the passenger was confirmed to be the suspect from the stabbing.  He was taken into custody without incident.

The condition of both victims has since been upgraded to stable.

Tyrese WISDOM, age 22 of Oshawa is charged with: Aggravated Assault x2, Assault with a Weapon x2, and Possess Weapon for Committing Offence x2.

He was held for a bail hearing.
