Male in Custody for Assault with Firearm and Uttering Threats

A male is in custody after committing an assault with a firearm and making threats.

On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at approximately 11:50 a.m., members of Central East Division responded to a check on well-being call in the area of Mary Street North and Colborne Street East in Oshawa.  When arriving on scene officers received further information that a male had fled on foot and was possibly in possession of a firearm.  The Tactical Support Unit and K9 Unit attended the scene and contained the area.  The victim was located with serious but non-life threatening injuries.  The victim was transported by police to a safe location.

Police located the suspect who was taken into custody without incident.  The suspect was transported to a local area hospital for minor injuries.

A search warrant was executed at a residence related to the suspect and a firearm was located.

Ardalan AHMADI, age 40 of Oshawa is charged with numerous offences including: Point Firearm, Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public, Uttering Threats, Possession Contrary to Order, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

AHMADI was held for a bail hearing.
