Male on House Arrest Located at Restaurant; Firearm Seized

On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at approximately 1:15 p.m., members of the Central East Division Downtown Foot Patrol and General Patrol were made aware of a male known to be on house arrest and currently wanted by Ottawa Police Service, breaching his conditions in the area of Ritson Road North and Adelaide Avenue East in Oshawa. 

The male was observed by an off-duty officer who was familiar with him, and followed to the area of King Street East and Albert Street in Oshawa, where he entered a restaurant.  Officers attended the restaurant and arrested the male without incident.  A firearm and ammunition were located concealed under a vending machine near the male’s property. 

Kenneth TSHILOMBO, age 29 from Ajax is charged with numerous offences including: Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm x1, Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm No Licence x1, Possess Weapon – Dangerous to Public Peace x1, Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm x1, Possession Contrary to Order x2, and Fail to Comply with Release Order x2.

He was held for a bail hearing.
