Male Wanted for Stabbing in Oshawa

Police are looking for the suspect in a stabbing that led to a vehicle collision in Oshawa.

On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to a collision in the area of Grandview Street and Ridge Valley Drive.  A grey Mazda sedan fled after it forced an SUV off the roadway into a fire hydrant.  The driver of the SUV was suffering from a stab wound and was transported to a Toronto trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Further investigation revealed that the Mazda sedan had initially collided with the SUV in a nearby parking lot.  The driver of the Mazda then got into a physical altercation with the driver of the SUV and stabbed him with a knife before fleeing the area.  The victim followed the suspect in his vehicle, but was forced off the roadway by the suspect.

The victim’s injuries have since been upgraded to stable.

Police believe this is an isolated incident and have no public safety concerns.

Sam NYOMBI, age 28 from Oshawa is wanted for: Assault Cause Bodily Harm, and Assault with a Weapon.
