Proactive Patrol Leads to Weapons and Drug Arrest

A 30-year-old female from Oshawa is facing weapons and drug related charges.

On Monday, September 4, 2023, members of Central East Division conducted a proactive patrol in the downtown core of Oshawa, when they observed a known female near the Beer Store on Centre Street. The female was wanted on an outstanding warrant with another police service, and was taken into custody without incident.  The female was searched and found to be in possession of two throwing knives, a hunting knife, a multicolored switch blade, a silver baton, and a black pellet gun, contrary to a current weapons prohibition.

Lauren HICKEY, age 30, of Oshawa is charged with: Fail to Comply with Release Order, Possess Weapons Dangerous to the Public, and Possess Schedule I Substance (Cocaine).

She was held for a bail hearing.
