Search Warrant Results in Seizure of Firearms and Drugs

Two are in custody after drug investigation results in firearms and drugs being seized.

On Friday, October 6, 2023, at approximately 12:30 a.m., members of the Gun and Gang Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the York Regional Police Tactical Support Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Liberty Street South and Baseline Road in Clarington.  Inside the residence police located numerous drugs and a firearm.

A traffic stop in the area of Trulls Road and Highway 2 in Clarington was also initiated in relation to the search warrant.  A male in the vehicle was found in possession of numerous drugs and a firearm. 

A male and female were taken into custody without incident.

Daniel THERAULT, age 39 of Bowmanville is charged with: Possess Restricted Firearm – No Licence x2, Possess Loaded Restricted Firearm x2, , Possession of a Restricted Weapon Knowing its Restricted x2, Possess Prohibited Device x3, Possess Prohibited Device Knowing its Prohibited x3, Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) x2, Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (fentanyl) x2, Possession Contrary to Order x4, Fail to Comply with Probation Order x1, Fail to Comply with Release Order x1.

Natasha PINEY, age 38 of Bowmanville is charged with: Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine) x1, Possess Restricted Firearm – No Licence x1, Possess Loaded Restricted Firearm x1, Possess Prohibited Device x2, Possess Prohibited Device Knowing its Prohibited x2, Possession of a Restricted Weapon Knowing its Restricted x1, Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (fentanyl) x1, Fail to Comply with Release Order x1.

Both were held for a bail hearing.
