Six Individuals Charged After Armed Robbery with Firearm
Two females and four males have been charged after a male was assaulted and robbed at gun point in Oshawa.
On Monday, December 11, 2023, at approximately 5:20 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to an armed robbery in the area of John Street East and Simcoe Street South in Oshawa. The victim was at a local business when he was approached by a female who took the victim’s phone and demanded he exit the business. Once outside the victim was surrounded by four other suspects, assaulted, and robbed at gunpoint. The victim managed to get away, fleeing to a nearby park. All suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival. Officers tracked the suspects to a residence in the same area where a perimeter was set up. Six individuals exited the residence and were taken into custody without incident. A search warrant was sought and executed for the residence resulting in the seizure of a loaded firearm.
A 17-year-old female from Oshawa is charged with numerous offences including: Utter Death Threats, Point a Firearm, Assault, Robbery with a Firearm, Carry Concealed Weapon, Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm No Licence, Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm, and Possession Contrary to Order.
Strife LESSARD, age 18 from Oshawa is charged with numerous offences including: Assault, Robbery with a Firearm, Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm No Licence, and Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm.
James THAJER, age 30 from Oshawa is charged with numerous offences including: Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm No Licence, and Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm.
Devontay SPARKS, age 19 of no fixed address is charged with numerous offences including: Assault, Robbery with a Firearm, Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm No Licence, and Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm.
Jacqueline REID, age 37 from Oshawa is charged with numerous offences including: Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm No Licence, and Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm.
Tre BUCKNOR, age 21 from Brampton is charged with numerous offences including: Assault, Robbery with a Firearm, Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm No Licence, and Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm.
All parties were held for a bail hearing.
