Three Youths in Custody after Jewelry Store Robbed in Oshawa

Three youths are in police custody after they entered a jewelry store armed with hammers and smashed display cases in Oshawa.  All three are currently on previous release orders.

On Saturday, February 24, 2024, at approximately 8:50 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to a robbery in progress at the Oshawa Centre located at 419 King Street West.  Four males entered Paris Jewellers armed with hammers and began smashing the display cases. They obtained a quantity of jewelry and fled the area.   Responding officers, with the assistance of Air1, were able to locate three of the four males hiding nearby.  All three were taken into custody without incident, a fourth suspect is currently wanted by police.

The fourth suspect is described as: male, 16-20 years old, 6’0” tall, slender build, wearing all black clothing.

A 15-year-old male from Toronto is charged with Robbery, Disguise with Intent, Possession of Weapon for Committing an Offence, Fail to Comply with Release Order, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over.

A 16-year-old male from Brampton is charged with Robbery, Disguise with Intent, Possession Weapon for Committing an Offence, Fail to Comply with Undertaking, Fail to Comply with Release Order, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over.

A 17-year-old male from Toronto is charged with Robbery, Disguise with Intent, Possession of Weapon for Committing an Offence, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over.

All three were held for a bail hearing.
