What is Road Watch?

Road Watch is a community-based program providing residents the opportunity to report dangerous and aggressive driving throughout Durham Region.

Emergency? Call 9-1-1

In an emergency, call 9-1-1. Do not use the Road Watch form to report emergencies.

Call 9-1-1 if you believe a driver is:

  • Impaired
  • Driving erratically
  • Exhibiting road rage behaviour
  • Putting public safety at immediate risk

Submitting a Road Watch Report

You may submit a Road Watch report for:

  • Excessive speeding
  • Tailgating
  • Failure to stop
  • Any act that puts other drivers at a high risk of collision or injury

Information needed to make a report

Record as much information as you can, including:

  • Date/time of incident
  • Location
  • Vehicle details (make, model, colour, etc.)
  • Description of the driver
  • Details of what occurred

Even if you are unable to record all of the details, submit the form so police have information on high-risk areas in the community.

If a driver is reported more than once, the police may contact that individual regarding the reports.
